Lucas has been leading digitalization efforts in maritime transportation for over 20 years. He has worked with many technology stacks, but Microsoft holds a special place in his heart: he has been a believer and a hands-on developer ever since the first .NET versions and has progressively tested and leveraged many of the Microsoft offerings in more than 100 software projects in the enterprise setting over the years, spanning the use cases of ERP, Business Intelligence, eMail (including an award winning .NET based vessel to shore email solution), Intranets & Collaboration and more. During the past 8 years he has been leading the development of Signal Ocean, a data-centric SaaS platform that offers decision support and insights to participants of the global freight and commodities markets, including many Fortune 500 companies such as Exxon, Chevron, Shell, Vitol and Trafigura. At Signal, Lucas has systematically leveraged cloud computing and has also been involved in several technology acquisitions and investments.
