We will present an application of a Digital Twin based framework in a crisis management and mitigation scenario taking place at a university campus and especially at the University of Athens – department of Informatics and Telecommunications.

Demo will allow attendees to Explore the integration of a 3D digital twin, Recognize the importance of adaptive transmissions, Analyse resource orchestration and energy-saving mechanisms and Understand the impact on safety and efficiency.

Flexible and printed electronic devices refer to technologies that allow the manufacture of electronic circuits using printing technologies (screen printing, inkjet, etc.) thus providing the possibility of creating devices on a multitude of substrates, which can be flexible, in contrast to traditional electronic circuits that are limited to rigid substrates and specific materials.

This technology has applications in many fields such as portable electronic devices, flexible energy systems, IoT systems, medical applications, etc.

SPEECH: Intelligent Surfaces and Integrated Sensing for 6G

In 6G perceptive systems, reconfigurability and programmability, agility and resilience, situational awareness and sensing will transform communication networks into cyber-physical connectivity infrastructures, capable of ‘sensing’ and ‘shaping’ the world.

Based on this vision, the objective of this talk is to present major 6G usage scenarios trends and, in this context, explain the role and potential of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) as a key wireless innovation that could catalyze 6G. RIS fundamentals, design principles and challenges, novel capabilities and features will be discussed and illustrated through selected wireless connectivity examples.

In this speech, I will present and give a brief outline of two AI research projects currently running at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

First, I will present the Ymnodos project, which aims at the creation of AI software for the recognition of Orthodox Church hymns and the provision of information to users about them.

Next, I will discuss the SmartEmbryo project, which integrates AI and computer vision to develop a complete software that will indicate which fetus is most suitable for the coveted pregnancy.
